Graham Armstrong – the CWU’s rep at Stanford House, Warrington, has completed the Great Manchester run in 1 hour 46 minutes (and 6 seconds).

“First time I’ve run competitively since I was 16!” said Graham, once he’d caught his breath..

Graham ran as part of the Talk Talk contingent .

Liverpool born Graham continued “I have to say the atmosphere was terrific – Manchester is a very friendly city. It was a privilege to be there!”

Graham ‘s colleagues donated generously, and one team member kindly decorated his collection bucket. Money raised by the runners is going to the Red Cross and Barnardos, and Graham intends to give some money to Multiple Sclerosis.

“I’ve emailed the MD to congratulate him on a job well done” Graham said, in reference to the work that has been put in by Talk Talk staff to make the event a success.

I had to ask Graham – What has competing in the Great Manchester run got in common with your union work?

“Sometimes it’s a bit uphill!”

But seriously – if you’re a worker at TalkTalk’s Stanford House and you need a friend at work, or you’re just curious about the CWU, then Graham can be contacted on:
