Carphone Worker censored across the company May 1, 2009

It was only a matter of time.  Carphone Warehouse Group PLC has censored http://www.carphoneworker.co.uk at every site operated by the company.  Carphone Warehouse, and CEO Charles Dunstone, evidently think it up for them to choose whether workers should be able to access union information.

In truth, Charles Dunstone is not the least concerned about this website.  What does worry him is the possibility that the workers who read this site, and who participate in the union will one day decide that enough is enough, and organise themselves as a force to be reckoned with.  Often, workers do not believe in the possibility of their organisation and strength.  If there is one thing this ban shows, it is that the senior management, on the other hand, do believe in that possiblity.

That’s interesting. As far as we know, it’s censored elsewhere.

I wonder if Carphone can explain why some workers but not others are allowed to view it?
